Since 2004, I've seen close to 1000 polar bears during more than 60 photo expeditions to the Arctic. Most of my best polar bear encounters have been in Svalbard, but I've also had a few successful trips to Alaska and Greenland. Below are what I consider my "Top 50" photographs of polar bears. The main criteria for my selection are images I’ve been most satisfied with, are telling a story, or are in my opinion simply great photographs.
