Svalbard is my favorite photo destination on Earth! I’ve done 27 photo expedition to this Arctic pearl at 80 degree North, and it’s always something new and different to photograph. Svalbard is in my opinion the Polar bear capital of the World, with good numbers of Polar bears in the drifting ice, with nice scenery and great photo opportunities. This is also the only place on Earth where there is no hunting on Polar bears, so they are not very shy to people – that’s why we also have our safety rules.
This archipelago was the perfect destination for me to start the Nikon D5 Beta test, during a photo expedition organized by WildPhoto Travel. You can see more of my Svalbard images in the Image Bank, or in my photo gallery (together with Roy Mangersnes). I will be photo guide on 4-5 expeditions to Svalbard in 2016, so let me know (on Facebook or email) if you want to photograph together with me in the Svalbard wilderness.
